Veep charges ACCM graduates to uphold integrity as college marks 10th anniversary
Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has encouraged newly qualified doctors from the Accra College of Medicine (ACM) to uphold discipline, integrity and a dedication to continuous learning as they enter the medical profession, emphasising that the future of Ghana’s healthcare system depends significantly on their professionalism.
The call was made during the 6th Congregation Ceremony of the college, which also doubled as the launch of ACM’s 10th anniversary celebration.
The event marked the graduation of the Class of 2025, who successfully completed the rigorous training required to join the medical profession.
Addressing the ceremony, the Vice President hailed the milestone as not only a proud moment for the graduates and their families, but also a crucial step in the nation’s pursuit of a stronger, more resilient healthcare system.
“This achievement represents much more than individual success. It contributes to the broader national mission of enhancing healthcare delivery in Ghana,” she said.
She further urged the graduating doctors to serve with empathy, humility and a commitment to ethical medical practice, adding that the responsibility of saving lives goes beyond academic knowledge and must be executed with compassion and professionalism.
The event was attended by the management of the college, faculty, invited guests, and families of the graduates, who celebrated the institution’s academic progress since its establishment.
The Accra College of Medicine, now celebrating a decade of existence, continues to position itself as a key contributor to Ghana’s human resource needs in the health sector.
