2024 NSMQ: Keta SHTS advances to semi-finals, edging out Achimota Sch and Mpraeso SHS
Keta Senior High Technical School (SHTS) has bested Achimota School and Mpraeso Senior High School (SHS), advancing to the semi-finals of the 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
Wednesday night, October 23, Keta, Achimota, and Mpraeso faced off for contest 3 of the quarter-finals at the SGS Auditorium, University of Ghana (UCC), Cape Coast, Central region.
After five rounds, Keta carried the day with 54 points, while Achimota had 42 points, and Mpraeso 21 points.
Futhermore, Keta SHTS had the highest score of all the three contests today, earning them a prize worth GHS3,000 from Pepsodent Ghana.

Achimota was represented by Kwabena Nwaghanata (later substituted by Noble Nyamekyenokwarfo Williams) and Daniel Kwadwo Ampofo-Twumasi; Mpraeso by Alex Asare-Duah and Rosalinda Antchui; and Keta by Clinton Edem Adorsoo (later subsituted by Frederick Adjavor-Sowalo) and Perpertual Sefakor Gakpetor.
The quiz mistress, as always, was Prof Elsie Effah Kaufmann.
The National Science & Maths Quiz seeks to promote the study of science and mathematics in Ghana. This programme has been popular at unearthing local young scholarly talent since 1993, and was adjudged the CIMG TV Programme of the Year 2017, 2022 & 2023.
