Ag. NEIP CEO promises conducive environment for job creation
The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, Mr Eric Adjei has promised to create a conducive environment for job creation.
Interacting with the staff of NEIP during his first day in office, Mr Adjei reaffirmed the organization's commitment to fostering an environment conducive for job creation for Ghana's youth.
The initiative he said, aligns with President John Dramani Mahama's pledge to prioritize employment opportunities for the nation's younger population.
NEIP, a flagship policy initiative of the Government of Ghana, aims to provide integrated national support for start-ups and small businesses. Its primary focus is on offering business development services, startup incubators, and funding to young enterprises, enabling them to grow and succeed.
Under the leadership of Eric Adjei, he plans to implement several key modules to achieve the set objectives.
These include providing business development services, establishing startup incubators, and offering funding opportunities for young businesses.
"This renewed focus on entrepreneurship and innovation is a direct response to the challenges highlighted by President Mahama", he said.
He emphasised the importance of job creation, particularly through aggressive food production and modernization of agriculture, as part of his vision for a 24-hour economy.
"By creating an enabling environment for young entrepreneurs, NEIP seeks to empower the youth, reduce unemployment, and contribute to the nation's economic growth", he added.
He said the program's initiatives are expected to play a significant role in realizing President Mahama's commitment to create jobs for the youth of Ghana.
