Akufo-Addo thanks Asantehene for his support and counsel
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed profound gratitude to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his wise counsel and unwavering support throughout his administration.
During a courtesy call on the Asantehene as part of his nationwide tour to bid farewell and thank Ghanaians for their mandate over the past eight years, the President commended Otumfuo for his pivotal role in national development.
He lauded the Asantehene’s transformative traditional leadership and dedication to peace-building efforts, describing them as vital to Ghana’s stability and progress.
“Your involvement in critical national issues, particularly in promoting peace, has been invaluable.
As I bring my tenure to a close, it is only fitting to express my deep appreciation for your guidance and blessings throughout my journey,” President Akufo-Addo said.
Reflecting on his visits to Manhyia during his presidential bid, the President noted that Otumfuo’s blessings were instrumental in his success and expressed confidence that the Asantehene would continue to champion peace as Ghana prepares for the December 7 elections.
In response, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II congratulated President Akufo-Addo for successfully completing his tenure and acknowledged his contributions to the nation.
“Under your leadership, the Ashanti Region has received its fair share of development.
I wish you the very best as you transition to the next chapter of your life,” the Asantehene remarked.
