Buem FM and Look FM's transmitters missing

Unknown people have broken into the transmission room of the two major radio stations in the Oti region which serves many comnunities with information, education, advertisement, and current affairs, among other things.
In December 2024, just after the general election, the unfortunate incident hit the management of Buem 88.7 FM in Jasikan municipality, when they noticed they were off the air. Upon their checks, it was realised thieves had stolen the transmitter which was located elsewhere.
Odeefour Kofi Ventura, a staff member of Buem FM expressed shock at what happened. However, he assured residents the station's management would do everything possible to track down the people behind the theft.
On the other hand, Look 98.5 FM located at Tapa Abotoase, have gone off-air, also, following the theft of their transmitter.
First, the station's broadcast was truncated due to power issues. During the process of fixing this, their transmitter also went missing.
Residents in the area are worried in view of their only source of information and advertisement being off for weeks now.
Some youth have lamented being rendered unemployed since the radio stations are off the air.
The management of the two stations are yet to release an official update on the situation, but efforts are underway to retrieve the stolen transmitters.
Residents and listeners have called on security agencies, in the meantime, to intervene and help retrieve the stolen equipment to restore broadcasting services.
