CDS visits injured military personnel at 37 Military Hospital After Salaga–Tamale accident
The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, has visited military personnel receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital following a vehicular accident that occurred between Salaga and Tamale.
The incident, which happened late last week, involved a military vehicle transporting personnel on duty.
Several officers sustained various degrees of injury and were quickly evacuated to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for specialised medical attention.
During his visit on Monday, 24 November 2025, Lt. Gen. Agyapong interacted with the injured personnel, assured them of the Ghana Armed Forces’ full support, and commended the medical staff for their swift and professional response.
He emphasised the military’s commitment to ensuring that all affected officers receive the best care possible.
The CDS also pledged that a thorough investigation would be conducted to establish the cause of the accident and to strengthen measures that enhance the safety of troops during operations and transportation.
Families of the injured officers expressed appreciation for the high-level visit and the continuous support from the Ghana Armed Forces leadership.
