COVID-19: China’s First Lady presents 66K nose masks to Mrs Akufo-Addo
The First Lady of China, Professor Peng Liyuan, has donated over 66,000 nose masks to Ghana’s First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, as part of an initiative to support African First Ladies to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The nose masks, which include 240 infrared thermometers, were delivered to Mrs Akufo-Addo’s office on Wednesday, 22 July 2020 by the Charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy to Ghana, Mr ZHU Jing.
Mrs Akufo-Addo expressed her gratitude to Prof Liyuan for the support.
She advised Ghanaians to continue to observe safety etiquettes as they go about their lives to help prevent the spread of the virus.
Ghana has confirmed over 30,366 COVID-19 cases as at Thursday, 23 July 2020 with over 153 deaths.
