CSA elected to lead African Network of Cyber Security Authorities

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has been elected to lead the African Network of Cyber Security Authorities (ANCA), an organisation established by Smart Africa to enhance cyber security coordination across the African continent.
In a statement dated December 6, 2023, the CSA announced that ANCA comprises African cyber geographical and linguistic areas, aiming to create a platform for collaboration among its members and amplify Africa's voice on global cyber security platforms.
According to the statement, ANCA currently consists of 17 members representing African countries with dedicated national cyber security authorities.
These countries include Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Congo Republic, Djibouti, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Tunisia.
During the second meeting held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in Accra, on the sidelines of the Global Conference on Cyber Security Capacity Building (GC38), Ghana was elected to chair the network for the current year, with the Kingdom of Morocco serving as the vice-chair, as mentioned in the statement.
The statement highlighted that Ghana's election to lead ANCA further demonstrates the country's growing leadership role on the continent in cyber security matters.
On November 29, Ghana hosted the first-ever global conference, welcoming over 800 delegates from more than 100 countries.
The event, themed ‘Cyber Resilience for Development’, was organised by the CSA, Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE), The Cyber Peace Institute, the World Bank, and the World Economic Forum, hosted by the government of Ghana through the Ministry of Communication and Digitalisation.
Dr Albert Antwi-Boasiako, the Director of CSA in Ghana, who will serve as the chair of the network, outlined Ghana's vision for ANCA, emphasising the country's commitment to providing leadership on cyber security matters across the continent.
