Central Military Command holds match and shoot competition in Sunyani

The Military Central Command, based in Kumasi, has organised a Match and Shoot Competition in Sunyani to test the readiness and capabilities of its officers.
The event brought together participants from the 3rd Battalion of Infantry (Sunyani), 4th Battalion of Infantry (Kumasi), 154 Armoured Regiment (Sunyani), and personnel from the Central Command.
Speaking at the exercise, the General Officer Commanding the Central Command, Brigadier General Albert Sison Ogaja, explained that the competition is a long-standing tradition of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), designed to maintain peak operational standards.
According to him, the objectives of the exercise were to:
Test the fitness and marksmanship skills of officers.
Strengthen esprit de corps among the various units.
Select a team to represent the Central Command in the upcoming national competition.
Brig. Gen. Ogaja stressed that such exercises highlight the importance of continuous training, discipline, and teamwork, which remain critical for the effectiveness of the military.
The competition is expected to sharpen the operational readiness of the units while fostering unity and cooperation across the Command.
