Defence Minister engages National Homeownership Fund to secure housing for personnel

The Minister for Defence, Edward Omane Boamah, has revealed that the government is taking concrete steps to improve the living conditions of personnel within the Ghana Armed Forces through a new housing initiative.
According to the Minister, fruitful discussions have been held with the National Homeownership Fund (NHF) to facilitate the provision of new and additional accommodation for officers and soldiers across the tri-service armed forces, comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
The move forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare of service personnel, whose contributions to national peace and security continue to be recognised as invaluable.
“Our officers and soldiers deserve the best support we can offer, and ensuring their access to decent accommodation is a top priority,” the Minister stated.
He also extended appreciation to the leadership of the NHF for their dedication in making the housing initiative possible.
Notable members of the NHF team who played key roles include Prosper Hoetu, the Chief Executive Officer, George Armah Tetteh, Rachel Ablah Aculey, Samuel Etornam Kornu, and William Oduro Ampaw.
The initiative is expected to ease the accommodation burden on armed forces personnel and contribute significantly to morale and operational readiness.
