E/R: 3 persons including 1-year-old boy perish in accident
Three persons including a one-year-old boy have lost their lives in an accident on the Nsawam-Adeiso road in the Eastern Region.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, 26 May 2020 causing heavy vehicular traffic.
Confirming the incident, Police indicated that a Toyota Hiace vehicle with registration number GE 4369-11 heading towards Abirem from Accra had a head-on-collision with a tipper truck with registration number GT 9928-20 on the opposite direction when it attempted to overtake an unidentified vehicle.
According to Police Spokesperson, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the impact of the collusion pushed and caused another Toyota Hiace with registration number GE 4349-11 which was driving behind the tipper truck and carrying 10 passengers on board to plunge into a gutter resulting in the injuring of both drivers and passengers.
The three persons who were onboard the first Toyota Hiace vehicle including the driver, an indentified man and the 1-year-old boy were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
The victims were taken to the Adeiso Health Centre and Nsawam Government Hospital while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue.
