Mr. Jeff Konadu, the Eastern Regional Chairman of Ghana's governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called upon party members to unite and prioritise victory in the upcoming 2024 general elections, in line with the party's 'breaking the 8' mantra.

In a recent interview, Chairman Konadu stressed the importance of party cohesion and acknowledged the accomplishments of Inspector General of Police (IGP), George Akuffo-Dampare, regardless of his political affiliation.

Mr Konadu urged NPP members to put aside political differences and issues surrounding the leaked tape of the IGP, rallying behind the common goal of securing victory in the 2024 general elections. He emphasised the party's commitment to presenting a united front to the voters for a successful electoral outcome.

He stated, "Let’s focus on building our party unity in winning the 2024 general elections, and that’s the most important," highlighting the NPP's dedication to party unity and electoral success.

He encouraged party members to support IGP Dampare in carrying out his duties impartially, regardless of political affiliations. He praised the IGP for his efforts during his tenure and stressed the need to recognise his achievements.

Furthermore, Mr Konadu commended the substantial investments made by the government in the police force, including the provision of motorbikes, construction of essential infrastructure, and deployment of necessary security apparatus.

He particularly highlighted the recent acquisition of two helicopters by the Police Service as an unprecedented milestone in enhancing law enforcement capabilities.

The Eastern Region Chairman also emphasised the positive impact of these investments on the Eastern Region, particularly in reducing armed robbery incidents and improving overall security conditions under IGP Dampare 's leadership.
