Energy Minister opens nine mechanised boreholes in Yapei-Kusawgu
The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has inaugurated nine mechanised boreholes across several communities in the Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency of the Savanna Region, reaffirming his commitment to improving access to clean and safe drinking water for his constituents.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, Mr Jinapor, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu, said the project forms part of his broader plan to enhance living standards through strategic investments in water, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
“As the Member of Parliament for Yapei- Kusawgu, I am delighted to announce the successful completion and opening of nine mechanised boreholes in various communities within my constituency,” he stated.
“This initiative is part of my continuous effort to ensure that every community has access to safe and reliable water.”
The beneficiary communities include Ali Complex, Cemetery, Fire Service, Near MP’s House, Technical, Chanchanco, Chanchanco (Second Site), Yipala East, and the Fulani Borehole at Npaha Junction.
Mr. Jinapor described the initiative as a critical intervention to reduce the burden of water scarcity, particularly in rural areas. He added that the project reflects his vision of equitable development, ensuring that all communities—regardless of size or location—benefit from essential social amenities.
He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining these development efforts, noting that additional projects in health, education, and infrastructure are underway to further improve the quality of life across Yapei-Kusawgu.
