Family to hold candlelight vigil in honour of 23-year-old El- Wak stampede victim, Priscila Nyamalor
The family of 23-year-old Priscila Nyamalor, who tragically lost her life during the stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium on November 12, 2025, has announced plans to hold a candlelight vigil in her memory.
According to relatives, the solemn ceremony is scheduled to take place later this week, bringing together family, friends, and community members to mourn Priscila’s passing and celebrate her life.
The vigil will feature prayers, tributes, and a procession in her honour.
Priscila, described by loved ones as peaceful, ambitious, and full of promise, was among the victims of the chaotic incident that occurred during a large public gathering at the stadium.
Her sudden death has left her family devastated, with many still struggling to come to terms with the loss.
Family spokespersons say the candlelight vigil is not only to honour Priscila’s memory but also to call for accountability and improved safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
The family has extended an open invitation to the public, especially those who knew Priscila, to join them in paying their final respects as they prepare for her burial arrangements in the coming days.
