NPP primary: Bawumia begins Central Region campaign today
Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is set to begin his regional tour of the Central Region today as he launches his bid to secure the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential slot ahead of the 2026 presidential primary.
According to his campaign team, Dr. Bawumia will visit all 22 constituencies in the region as part of efforts to galvanise support across the grassroots.
The tour marks the latest phase of his nationwide campaign to win the race to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections.
A member of the campaign team and former Managing Director of Inter-City STC, Nana Akomea, disclosed the information during an interview on Accra-based Neat FM.
He said the Central Region tour reflects the campaign’s commitment to engaging delegates directly and sharing Dr. Bawumia’s vision for the party and the country.
The NPP is scheduled to elect its flagbearer on January 31, 2026, a crucial decision that will shape the party’s strategy going into the December 7, 2028 national polls.
Dr. Bawumia is expected to intensify his message of party unity, economic transformation, and renewed leadership as he seeks to secure the mandate of NPP delegates.
