The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) successfully extinguished a fire that broke out at the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project on Tuesday evening.

The blaze, which began around 5:52 p.m., consumed five 40-foot containers serving as offices for the project.

Firefighters from the Sege and Devtraco Fire Stations responded swiftly to the emergency, working tirelessly to contain the inferno.

After over three hours of intense efforts, the team managed to bring the fire under control, completely extinguishing it by 9:00 p.m.

Although the containers and their contents were entirely destroyed, firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to nearby housing units, averting a potentially larger disaster.

Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are set to commence to ascertain its origin.

The GNFS has been widely praised for their swift response and effective firefighting efforts that safeguarded the housing units.

Further updates are expected as authorities continue their probe into the incident.
