MTN Ghana Foundation presents hampers to babies born on 2024 Christmas Day in Volta Region
The MTN Ghana Foundation donated baby hampers to newlyborn babies on 2024 Christmas Day in the Volta Region.
The baby hampers included baby oil, diapers, wipes, soap, towel, wrappers, toys, baby clothing, among others.
The donation took place in five (5) hospitals in the region capturing the regional capital Ho and the Central Tongu District on Boxing Day, December 26, 2024.
The hospitals are: the Ho Teaching Hospital, the Ho Municipal Hospital, the Ho Polyclinic, the Royal Hospital all in the Ho municipality and the Adidome Government Hospital in the Central Tongu District.
The Ho Teaching Hospital recorded four (4) new babies made up of one male and three females and the Ho Municipal Hospital recorded eight (8) with three males and five females.
In addition, the Ho Polyclinic have a male and a female each with the Royal Hospital also recording a male and two females.
Fifty (15) hampers were as well presented at the Adidome Government Hospital in the Central Tongu District.
Other mothers who have given birth and are currently on admission at the hospitals were also shown love with the baby hampers.
Speaking to the media after the donations, the Volta Regional Lead-MTN Ghana, Mr. Mawuli Katahena, emphasized the need to showing love to each other in festive seasons especially babies and their mothers.
According to him giving such a warming welcome to the babies and their mothers gives hope, inspiration and a sense love.
"As a corporate organization, MTN Ghana Foundation is interested in the joy of the babies and their mothers and so we put funds aside every year to do this project.
We have been doing this since 2011 with the belief that once we put smiles on the faces of the babies they are well catered for because the Psychologists will tell you that the way the mother feels is the way the baby is catered for" he asserted.
He added that the hampers are being donated across all 16 regions in Ghana with a target of 600 nationwide.
Touching on other projects the company will embark on in the Volta Region, Mr. Katahena, mentioned the expansion of the Accident & Emergency Ward of the Ho Teaching Hospital, which he said will reduce congestion at the hospital for better healthcare delivery with modern technologies.
It was all joy and emotional feelings for the mothers who received the MTN team with the donations.
