2025 budget sparks optimism – National GRASAG President-Elect

The National President-Elect of the Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG), Jimmy Mawuse Adangbe, has hailed the 2025 budget as “refreshing and full of hope” for various sectors, including youth, women, students, and even religious institutions.
Speaking on Class 91.3 FM’s morning show, Mr. Adangbe commended Finance Minister Ato Forson for presenting a budget that addresses key socio-economic concerns while fostering optimism among Ghanaians.
"This budget is refreshing and offers hope to the youth, women, students, and even the church, as tithes are expected to increase due to the removal of certain taxes," Adangbe stated.
He explained that the abolition of specific tax policies would not only ease financial burdens on individuals and businesses but could also benefit religious institutions, leading to increased tithes and offerings.
Adangbe praised the budget’s emphasis on youth empowerment and job creation, stressing that it provides a strong foundation for employment opportunities and entrepreneurship.
"The youth are the backbone of this nation, and this budget’s focus on job creation and business support is a step in the right direction," he said.
Additionally, he welcomed the budget’s targeted interventions for women, particularly in education and healthcare, which he believes will promote gender equality and national development.
For students, Adangbe expressed optimism about the budget’s increased allocation for education and research, noting that it would enhance academic excellence and innovation.
"This budget recognizes the role of education in national development, and we are confident it will translate into better resources and opportunities for students across the country," he added.
The 2025 budget, according to Adangbe, represents a progressive vision for Ghana’s future, offering relief, growth, and opportunity for diverse groups in society
