Public outcry grows over silence on October 2024 fatal East Legon accident case
Public concern is mounting over the lack of official updates on a fatal road accident that occurred in October 2024, which claimed the lives of two teenagers.
More than a year later, there has been no clear communication from authorities regarding the status of the case.
The renewed calls for accountability were sparked by a post on social media by outspoken commentator Bongo Ideas, who questioned the apparent silence surrounding the incident.
According to the post, the accident involved a 16-year-old driver, son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, whose actions allegedly led to the deaths of the two teenagers.
In his message, Bongo Ideas emphasised that justice must not only be served but must also be fair and transparent, stressing that the public deserves to know what steps have been taken since the tragedy.
He further raised concerns about the whereabouts and legal status of the juvenile suspect, noting that it remains unclear whether the driver is still being held at a borstal institution or has been released.
“Two young lives were lost,” the post stated, adding that the absence of updates has deepened the pain of the victims’ families and fueled speculation among the public.
The commentary concluded with a strong demand for immediate accountability and clarity from law enforcement and the judicial authorities.
