GaDangme Council calls for swift action over attack on Electrochem Ghana Ltd
In a statement issued by the Council's President, Hon. J. Ayikoi Otoo, the body described the invasion of the company’s warehouse and bungalows, and acts of vandalism and theft, as unlawful and detrimental to the development of local communities.
The Council urged security agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation into the incident to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
“It is imperative that the perpetrators are brought to justice to serve as a deterrent to others who may contemplate similar actions,” the statement emphasized.
The GaDangme Council acknowledged the significant contributions of Electrochem Ghana Ltd to the economy of Ghana and the socio-economic development of Ada.
The company, which plays a key role in job creation and industrial growth, has been a source of livelihood for many people in the Greater Accra region.
The Council warned that such attacks threaten the company’s operations, potentially leading to job losses and economic instability in the area.
The Council also urged community members to remain calm and refrain from any retaliatory actions that could further escalate tensions.
It further called on the government and security agencies to provide adequate protection for Electrochem Ghana Ltd and other businesses operating in the area to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for investment and economic activities.
“The GaDangme Council remains committed to promoting development, peace, and harmony among our people and businesses.
Let us all work together to build a thriving and united community,” the statement concluded.
