The Government has set aside GH¢292 million to provide free sanitary pads to over 1.2 million female students in primary and secondary schools.
This initiative seeks to tackle menstrual health challenges that contribute to absenteeism and school dropouts among girls.
Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, emphasized that the initiative is part of the government's broader commitment to reducing dropout rates and ensuring a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for girls.
The allocation marks a significant step in promoting girls' education, health, and overall well-being across the country.
He made the announcement during a debate on the floor of Parliament.
