IWD 2025: Dr Bawumia celebrates 'immeasurable' impact, 'indispensable' role of women worldwide

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana’s former Vice President, has celebrated women on International Women’s Day (IWD).
On Facebook, today, Saturday, March 8, 2025, the economist and politician noted the impact of women was “immeasurable” and their roles “indispensable”.
“For all women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,” is the theme for the 2025 IWD, according to the United Nations (UN). Concerned with gender equality, reproductive rights, and combating violence and abuse against women, IWD asks the world to pause and consider the extent of progress made and what is anticipated.
Calling it a “special day,” Dr Bawumia added, “I salute women in Ghana, and the world over, for their immeasurable impact on humanity. Women’s roles in our societies are indispensable, and we must continuously appreciate and honour them, by treating them fairly and with utmost respect.”
