New York: Jinapor touts Ghana's vision to halt, reverse forest loss

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel A. Jinapor (MP), has touted Ghana's vision to halt or reverse forest loss by year 2030.
As part of efforts to stop land degradation and deforestation, Mr Jinapor on Wednesday 20th September, 2023, held strategic discussions with the US Special Presidential Envoy on Climate, Secretary John Kerry, and the UK Minister of State for Energy and Net Zero, Graham Stuart, on how to address deforestation and land degradation in Ghana.
The discussions were held on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
Meanwhile, in Belgium the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, responsible for Lands and Forestry, Benito Owusu-Bio joined the Ghana Technical Delegation on Wednesday, 20th September, 2023 during the opening of the technical session.
The 11th session of the Joint Monitoring Review Mechanism (JMRM) of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) between the Ghana and the European Union is currently ongoing in Brussels, Belgium.
