Osu Kinkawe Dzaase cautions diplomatic institutions against dealing with unauthorized persons

The Osu Kinkawe Dzaase has cautioned the US Embassy and other diplomatic institutions against associating with one Bernard Botchway, a.k.a Nortse Nii Nortey Owuo IV, who claims to be the Osu Mantse.
The Dzaase has also cautioned against any dealings with one Ishmael Adumuah, who the Dzaase says has been dismissed as the Oshiahene of Osu.
“Both Bernard Botchway and Ishmael Adumuah have no gazettes as Chiefs in Ghana.
There are duly gazetted Chiefs in Osu, who have their names in the National Register of Chiefs, and the US Embassy can contact the Osu Kinkawe Dzaase for assistance in such matters,” a statement from the Dzaase said.
According to the Dzaase, which is the only accredited authority with the mandate to install Osu Mantse, the said Bernard Botchway has been restrained by the Judicial Committee of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs from holding himself as Osu Mantse.
The statement signed by Nii Saban Atsen VII, who is a gazetted Chief and head of the Dzaase said, “Nortse Nii Nortey Owuo IV, whose real name is Bernard Botchway, is not the legitimate Osu Mantse, and has been restrained by the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs from holding himself as the Osu Mantse”.
The statement added that he has been cited for contempt at the High Court for breaching the restraining order, with the trial ongoing.
It added that Ishmael Adumuah, who has been enabling the said Bernard Botchway has been dismissed as the Osiahene of Osu, and is therefore not an authorized representative of the Osu Stool.
Meanwhile, some elders of the Osu Stool have cautioned the Cantonments Police against unethical and unprofessional harassment of youth members of the Osu for Peace, Progress and Unity Movement (OPPUM), following a statement issued by the group.
According to sources, the PRO of the Group, Reginald Opintan, who issued a statement condemning the collaboration between the US Embassy and the said Bernard Botchway has been invited by the Cantonments Police.
“How can a leader of a group that seeks the good and peace of Osu; the enforcement of the law, and the respect of the Constitution be persecuted when the persons who have defied legitimate orders of the Court are left to go scot-free?
This is not the reset agenda Ghanaians voted for,” they stated.
“We wish to send a clear message to the Cantonments Police that if there is any person they should invite, then it is the said Bernard Botchway and Ishmael Adumuah who are defying the Constitution of the land and the authority of the courts, thereby creating an atmosphere of insecurity in Osu.
We will not take kindly to any unprofessional and unethical conduct,” the elders warned.
They urged the IGP to rein in his officers at the Cantonments Police Station and uphold the highest standards of professional and ethical integrity of the service.
