President Mahama directs Immigration Service to intensify fight against human trafficking

In a bid to combat human trafficking and trans-national crimes, President John Mahama has tasked the newly appointed Comptroller General of the Ghana Immigration Service, DCI Samuel Basintale Amadu, with ramping up efforts to address the issue.
Speaking at a ceremony for the swearing-in of newly appointed security chiefs, President Mahama underscored the need for heightened surveillance to curb human trafficking and related offences.
He also called on the Immigration Service to strengthen inter-agency collaboration to effectively tackle trans-national crimes, including drug trafficking.
Additionally, the President urged all security personnel to fully support their new leadership, assuring them of the government's unwavering commitment to their welfare and the provision of necessary resources to enhance national security efforts.
