Supreme Court to hear injunction application against CJ's removal on April 2

The Supreme Court(SC) of Ghana is set to hear an injunction application filed by Mr. Vincent Assafuah on April 2, seeking to restrain President John Dramani Mahama from proceeding with petitions for the removal of the Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo.
Mr Assafuah, a Member of Parliament for Old Tafo in the Ashanti Region, is challenging the legitimacy of the petitions, arguing that any attempt by the President to act on them would undermine judicial independence and constitutional provisions.
The case has generated significant public interest, as it raises concerns over the separation of powers and the extent of Executive influence on the Judiciary.
