TOR boost operations with new fleets acquired from IGF
Management of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has procured and officially handed over a new fleet of vehicles to strengthen the refinery’s operational efficiency and ease long-standing logistical challenges.
The fleet includes eight brand new Mitsubishi vehicles, three Toyota Coaster buses, two industrial forklifts, and other essential operational vehicles to support daily activities across the refinery.
The intervention comes at a critical time, as TOR has grappled with severe logistical constraints for several years.
Management noted that the last major logistical support of this scale was received in 2013, with the prolonged absence of adequate transport and equipment adversely affecting productivity and slowing overall operations.
Board Chairman, Mr. Nayon Bilijo, inaugurated the vehicles and authorised their immediate deployment for official and operational use.
Management disclosed that, like other recent works undertaken at the refinery, the vehicles were procured using TOR’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF), generated in 2025 under the current management.
In a statement, management expressed profound appreciation to the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Jinapor, for their steadfast support, strategic direction, and commitment to the revitalisation and sustainable success of the refinery.
Management also commended the refinery’s workforce for their resilience, dedication, and unwavering support, acknowledging their crucial role in sustaining operations and driving progress despite years of logistical challenges.
