W/R: Sekondi MP warns against attempts to thwart chief's installation

The Member of Parliament for Sekondi Constituency in the Western Region, Blay Amarh Nyamekye, has issued a strong warning to individuals who may attempt to oppose the installation of a chief in Sekondi, emphasizing that the town’s development has stalled due to the prolonged absence of a traditional leader.
Speaking on Taadi FM’s Good Morning Taadi show with Emmanuel Akomene Acheampong, Mr Nyamekye lamented that Sekondi has lacked a chief for decades, a situation he believes has hindered progress.
He attributed this to the delayed burial of the town’s late chief and queen, who passed away nearly 30 years ago.
“I have had extensive discussions with the reigning Queen and Elders of the Sekondi Traditional Council, and I believe we have made significant progress.
We should have a Chief before the end of the year,” he stated.
Mr Nyamekye also issued a stern warning to anyone attempting to obstruct the process, declaring that he would publicly expose such individuals.
“I will name and shame anyone who dares to stall or truncate this process,” he cautioned.
The MP further stressed that installing a chief is vital to cleansing Sekondi of the negative spiritual effects caused by the prolonged absence of traditional leadership.
He expressed confidence that once a chief is installed, Sekondi will witness unprecedented development and renewed growth.
