The Walk With Julius event in Ho

The former CEO of Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr John Tampuri, has advised Ghanaians, especially residents within the Volta region, to take good care of their health through daily walks and other related exercises.

Interacting with some residents in Ho after a health walk dubbed 'Walk with Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff' in Ho on Saturday, September 13, 2025, he said it was ideal that everybody found time to engage in healthy activities and also regularly contacted their doctors to know their health status.

He said, the initiative by the chief of staff should not be seen as a political walk but rather an initiative to encourage the youth to improve on their health.

"For every country or society to develop, the residents must be healthy to work and add to the GDP of the country and to support the development of the country," he said.

The walk which attracted traders, government workers, journalists, and electronic and social media bloggers, among others, started from the STC taxi rank through the principal street of Ho and ended at the children's park with aerobics.

Former NDC Women's Organiser of Ho Central Mrs Sheba Aloryito called for public participation, urging that the walk should not be politicised.

She said everyone must be concern about their health and must embrace the initiative by the chief of staff rather than politicising it as an NDC walk.

She used the opportunity to invite all residents within Ho Central constituency to join the next one which will take place in the September 27, 2025, adding that the walk was aimed at improving the health and wellness of residents.

"This walk will be replicated across the 18 constituencies of the Volta region to encourage the young ones to prioritise their health," she indicated.

"We all know that we value and prioritise our various works more than our health and we wait till we breakdown before seeking for medical care. This is what the chief of staff is trying to discourage among the youth," she explained.

"For us to support the resetting agenda of his Excellency, the President, John Dramani Mahama, we all need to be healthy. Hence, the need to be part of the health walk," Mrs Aloryito concluded.

Some of the participants expressed their gratitude to the organisers of the health walk indicating that it would go a long way to improving their healthy living.
