Obeyeyie Care hosts medical outreach for Dormaa Akwamu residents
On Friday, January 3, 2024, Obeyeyie Care, a philanthropic and healthcare promotion organization, conducted a comprehensive medical screening and outreach programme for the chiefs and residents of Dormaa Akwamu in the Bono Region.
Themed "We Care to Help," the event included a range of humanitarian activities, such as donations to hospitals, support for prison services, and the settlement of maternity bills for new mothers unable to pay their medical expenses.
In his welcome address, the Chief Servant of Obeyeyie Care, Mr. Kwame Nkrumah, expressed gratitude to all attendees and acknowledged the contributions of sponsors who made the initiative possible as well as the medical team.
He highlighted the organization’s mission to raise awareness about lifestyle diseases like high blood pressure and diabetes, which have been increasingly linked to preventable fatalities.
“Our goal is to educate people on how to manage and prevent these conditions through medication adherence and lifestyle adjustments,” Mr. Nkrumah explained.
He emphasized the importance of regular health checks, urging residents to monitor their blood sugar and blood pressure levels to effectively manage these conditions and reduce health risks.
The outreach programme provided vital health screenings and education to many residents, equipping them with the knowledge to lead healthier lives.
The donations and financial support offered a lifeline to vulnerable groups, including new mothers and institutions in need.
The event underscored Obeyeyie Care’s commitment to fostering health and well-being in the community, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of the people of Dormaa Akwamu.
