UGMC detains Dan Botwe for COVID-19 test

The Member of Parliament for Okere constituency, Mr Daniel Botwe, has been admitted at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) awaiting his COVID-19 test result.
The lawmaker was admitted after he fell unwell earlier this week.
He stated in a statement that he will endeavour to inform the public about his test result once he is informed.
This comes hours after the Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, was detained at the same facility for further observation in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.
His first test was negative but he has been detained awaiting a second test result.
Ghana’s COVID-19 caseload currently stands at 14,568 with 10, 907 recoveries and 95 deaths.
