A/R: NPP communicators call off sit-down strike

The communicators for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the Ashanti Region, have rescinded their decision to embark on a sit-down strike over their unpaid allowances.
This comes on the back of a meeting the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Kodua held with leadership of the Communication team, on Sunday, 29 January 2023.
The NPP’s communicators in the Ashanti Regional, had announced their decision to embark on a strike action over their unpaid outstanding allowances.
“At a General Meeting of Regional and National Communications Directors, a conclusion was made that from Tomorrow, Monday, 30th January, 2023, ALL COMMUNICATORS are embarking on a SIT DOWN STRIKE until further notice,” the communicators said in an announcement, signed by the Ashanti Regional Communication Director, Dennis Kwakwa.
According to the communicators, who promote government business and defend government on various media platforms, they had not been paid their allowances and received nothing for the festive season well.
Therefore, the sit-down strike was to press home demands from the NPP “as regards Communicators’ Welfare.”
