Akufo-Addo must stop lying if he wants to make it to heaven-Mahama
Former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has lashed out at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over recent remarks questioning the NDC's ability to manage a 24-hour economy due to past energy challenges.
Speaking at a mini-rally in Ellembelle during his Western Regional tour, Mr Mahama rejected Akufo-Addo’s claims that the NDC failed to resolve Ghana's power crisis, commonly known as "dumsor," before leaving office in 2016.
He described the assertions as untruthful, insisting that the NDC fully resolved the issue by the end of its term, ensuring no load-shedding occurred that year.
Mahama cited Proverbs 19:9, which warns that “liars will not go to heaven,” and urged the President to desist from misleading Ghanaians about the history of the energy crisis.
“The claims that the NDC did not solve the power crisis before leaving office are blatant lies.
President Akufo-Addo must stop spreading falsehoods if he wants to make it to heaven,” Mahama declared.
He reiterated the NDC's commitment to addressing national challenges and emphasized that his administration worked diligently to resolve the power crisis, which he said was a result of years of neglect by successive governments.
Mr Mahama further called on Ghanaians to focus on the facts and not be swayed by political propaganda as the country approaches the December elections.
The mini-rally in Ellembelle was part of Mahama’s broader campaign to engage with constituents across the Western Region, outlining his vision to restore economic stability and address the nation’s pressing challenges.
