Anloga: Asiedu Nketia pledges fair opportunities during Volta Regional ‘Thank You’ tour

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fairness, transparency, and inclusive development during his Volta Regional Thank You Tour, which made a stop in the Anlo Constituency.
As part of the visit, Mr. Asiedu Nketia paid a courtesy call on the Awormefia of Anlo, Togbui Sri II, at his palace in Anloga.
Addressing party members and traditional leaders, he expressed gratitude to the people of Anlo for their steadfast support during the last general elections.
“We shall reset the country, and all of you will be satisfied,” he assured, commending the branch executives for their dedication and hard work that contributed to the party’s electoral success.
During the engagement, the Member of Parliament for Anlo, Mr Kwame Sefe, outlined key challenges facing the constituency, including limited access to fertilisers, farming tools, and employment opportunities.
He called for the decentralisation of job creation programmes to ensure fairness and equitable development for rural communities.
In response, Mr. Asiedu Nketia pledged that the NDC government would place renewed emphasis on job creation, youth empowerment, and skills development.
“Next year will see more jobs, skills training, and empowerment programmes,” he said, noting early signs of improvement in the value of the cedi and expressing optimism about the country’s economic outlook.
Touching on recruitment into the security services, the NDC Chairman promised a transparent and merit-based process, contrasting it with what he described as the opaque practices of the past.
“Past security recruitments were done in secrecy, with surnames as the basis.
We shall make it fair so that everyone can have the opportunity,” he affirmed.
The Awormefia of Anlo, Togbui Sri II, and Togbui Haxormene VI commended Mr Asiedu Nketia for his visit and expressed their continued support for national unity, peace, and development.
