The Ministerial nominees to be vetted

The Appointments Committee of Parliament has resumed the vetting of ministerial nominees today, Monday, January 20, 2025.

The exercise is aimed at assessing the qualifications, experience, and readiness of individuals nominated to head various ministries in the government was suspended for five minutes by the Chairman of the Committee, Bernard Ahiafor over some misunderstanding emanating from the  Ranking Member of the Committee who is also the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.

The vetting process will continue throughout the week, with nominees scheduled to appear before the committee on different days.

The vetting process is a crucial step in ensuring that nominees possess the necessary expertise, competence, and integrity to lead their respective ministries.

The committee’s recommendations will play a key role in determining whether the nominees receive parliamentary approval to assume office.
