Ashanti Regional NDC treasurer refutes NPP allegations of mobilising machomen to disrupt elections

The Ashanti Regional Treasurer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Marvin Philip Frazer Norman, has dismissed allegations by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the NDC is recruiting "macho men" ahead of the December 7 general elections.
Speaking during a donation exercise in the region, Mr. Norman labelled the claims as “palpably false” and urged the public to disregard them.
He reassured Ghanaians that the NDC remains committed to peaceful elections but warned that the party would not tolerate any attempts to manipulate the electoral process.
“We will not allow the election to be rigged.
If anyone tries to tamper with the process, we will respond decisively,” he stated.
As part of his efforts to support the NDC’s campaign, Mr. Norman donated 470 bags of rice, gallons of fuel, sanitary pads, and medical supplies to all 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region.
He encouraged party agents to be vigilant in safeguarding the party's votes to ensure a decisive victory.
The donation event was attended by party executives and Parliamentary Candidates, who expressed gratitude to Mr. Norman for his contributions.
They pledged to intensify their efforts to secure votes for the NDC in the region, traditionally considered an NPP stronghold.
