Ato Forson bids Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu farewell from parliamentary leadership position

Minority Leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has praised the outgone Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu for his leadership prowess during his tenure.
Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu’s resignation was made public on the night of Wednesday, 21st February, 2024.
In a farewell message, Dr Forson noted that although his exit from the leadership position has created a huge void, the lawmakers cannot help but respect his decision to take a bow.
The former leader according to Dr Forson will be fondly missed.
“As your contemporary, he has left a mark and a permanent footprint that will probably prove difficult to surpass in the annals of our legislature, for years to come,” Dr Forson noted.
To Dr Forson, Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu’s knowledge and experience of Parliamentary practice and procedure can only be matched by just a few.
Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu served as Deputy Majority Whip, Majority Chief Whip, Deputy Majority Leader and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Minority Leader, Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.
Dr Forson said he can personally attest to the Suame MP’s “outstanding leadership, brilliance rigour and attention to detail.”
“His uniquely humane and personable nature have always commanded the respect and admiration of his colleagues.”
Dr Forson expressed Parliament’s gratitude and by extension that of Ghanaians, to Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu for his “illustrious, selfless and patriotic service.”
Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has been replaced by Effutu MP, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.
