Chartered economist donates over GHS200K to Mahama's campaign
A chartered economist has donated an amount of GHS260,000 to support former John Dramani Mahama’s campaign to wrestle power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections.
The chartered economist, Mr Bernard Oduro Takyi, otherwise known as BOT in political circles said he and his wife, Jackline Oduro Takyi, were motivated by the former president’s tenacity to correct the wrongs of the governing NPP.
Speaking on Accra 100.5 FM’s mid-day news on Thursday, June 1, 2023, after presenting the cheque to the office of the former president said he came to the NDC after defecting from the NPP and he was warmly welcomed with open arms.
According to him, the NDC is a party for all, unlike the NPP.
He said out of the amount of GHS 260,000, GHS100,000 is meant for the campaign of the former president, GHS100,000 for the adoption of some eleven constituencies across the country and the remaining GHS60,000 for supporting media activities of the party going into the elections.
He mentioned the constituencies to be adopted as Sunyani West and East, Berekum West in the Bono Region.
Dome-Kwanbenya Constituency and Ablekuma in the Greater Accra Region, Hohoe East and West in the Volta Region, Offinso, Asunafo North among others.
He said the donation was contributions from members of the ‘BOT Joins NDC’ platform initiative.
He appealed to all party members to adopt a constituency for the victory of the NDC.
“I am an optimist and I believe the NDC led by former president John Dramani Mahama can change the status quo for Ghanaians,” he stated
