David Asante declares candidacy for NPP Parliamentary primaries in Nkawkaw
The Managing Director of the Ghana Publishing Company, David Asante, has officially declared his intention to contest the New Patriotic Party's parliamentary primaries in Nkawkaw.
Mr Asante made the announcement on Tuesday, 5 December 2023, in a Facebook post.
“After broad consultations with the leadership of the New Patriotic Party at the polling station, constituency, regional, and national levels, I have decided to contest the parliamentary primaries in the Nkawkaw Constituency.”
Expressing his dedication to provide quality leadership, Mr Asante aims to position Nkawkaw at the forefront of Ghana's political landscape.
Mr Asante was optimistic of his success in the upcoming primaries and sought the support of delegates to serve the constituency with honesty and sincerity.
This marks his second attempt at securing the parliamentary seat, following an unsuccessful bid in 2020.
The NPP's National Executive Committee (NEC) has set Saturday, 20 January 2024, for the parliamentary primaries in constituencies with sitting lawmakers.
The nomination period for interested candidates will begin from Wednesday, 20 December 2023, with detailed guidelines provided to ensure a fair and transparent conduct of the primaries.
