Dec.7: It surprises me that anybody will still go to the ballot box to vote for NPP again- Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama, in his "Building the Ghana We Want" tour at Nalerigu in the North East Region, asserted that he would be astounded if Ghanaians opted for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7, 2024 elections.
Criticising what he deemed as the “monumental failure” of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration over the past seven and a half years, Mahama labeled it as the “biggest political scam of the 4th republic.”
“Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration is the biggest political scam in the history of the 4th republic," Mahama expressed, skepticism regarding the incumbent's ability to secure votes.
He stressed: “Ghanaians are called upon again on 7th December 2024 to exercise their mandate and make a choice. And after what we have gone through in 7 and a half years, it surprises me [that] anybody will still go to the ballot box and say he’s going to vote for NPP again.”
Mr Mahama speculated that those inclined to vote for the NPP might be individuals who have directly or indirectly benefited from the administration's initiatives.
“Maybe those who have made money under this government, yes, they will go and vote again,” he stated.
However, he contended that the majority of Ghanaians have experienced a decline in their quality of life under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP's presidential candidate for the 2024 election.
"Those who'll vote for the NPP on December 7, 2024, are likely to be persons who have directly or indirectly benefited from the goodies of the administration,” Mr Mahama remarked.
Urging Ghanaians to make informed decisions at the polls, he emphasised: “But I know that the majority of Ghanaians have seen a reversal in the quality of their lives, in these seven and a half years.”
