Dec. 7 polls: EC to update parliament on preparations today

The Electoral Commission (EC) is scheduled to appear before Parliament today, Friday, July 19, 2024.
This is to provide a comprehensive update on its preparations for the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
This important meeting, set to take place in the parliamentary chamber, is in response to a request from members who are eager to assess the EC’s readiness for the December polls.
The announcement was made by the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Andrew Asiamah Amoako, during Thursday’s parliamentary proceedings.
He stated: “We will be meeting the Electoral Commission. They are going to be here at our instance; we have invited them to come and brief us on the preparations they have made so far towards the 2024 elections."
Highlighting the significance of the session, Mr. Amoako added: “If you have any issue relating to the EC, just come and ask. It’s not going to be a banter; we’re going to respectfully enquire about what they are doing. So, let’s prepare and come and meet them.”
