Dec 7 polls: Prof Opoku-Agyemang's Savannah Region tour begins today
The Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, begins her campaign tour of the Savannah Region today, Friday, November 15, 2024.
This was communicated in a statement released today, signed by Prof Opoku-Agyemang's Spokesperson James Agyenim-Boateng.
The Savannah Region tour comes "after completing a tour of the North East Region on Thursday," the statement noted.
The former education minister, who stands the chance of becoming Ghana's first-ever female vice president, "is touring the northern regions of Ghana to canvass for votes for NDC presidential candidate, Mr John Dramani Mahama, ahead of the December 7 general elections".
"Prof. Opoku-Agyemang will spend the next two days in the Savannah Region interacting with market women, traders, artisans, NDC members, supporters and supporters, and the general public," the statement underlined.
"She will make a strong case to voters that a vote for Mr John Dramani Mahama is a vote for jobs, women empowerment, improvement in education at all levels, good governance and skills training and apprenticeship for the youth."
As Ghana goes to the polls on December 7, Prof Opoku-Agyemang's flagship promise is to establish a Women's Development Bank if her party resumes governance.
