Mr. Farouk Al-Wahab, a diplomatic consultant, has refuted the idea that Ghanaians will resort to assassinating their leaders if they disagree with their policies while in government. 

According to Mr. Al-Wahab, Ghanaians do not have a history of assassinating their leaders, unlike in the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East.

Mr. Al-Wahab emphasised that Ghanaians are not inclined towards political assassinations. Instead, he explained, Ghanaians are more known for ritual killings. 

"If a Ghanaian wants to finish you, it is just by invoking some curses on you, and the next day you lie prostrate," he stated.

These comments were made while discussing the recent assassination attempt on former United States President, Donald Trump, during his campaign in Philadelphia.

 The discussion took place on the Ghana Yensom Morning show, co-hosted by Otafrigya Kaayire Kwesi Appea-Apreku and Odehyeeba Kofi Essuman on Accra 100.5 FM on Monday, July 15, 2024.

Mr. Al-Wahab reiterated that Ghanaians are not known for sophisticated killings but have no equal when it comes to ritual killings. 

He pointed out that even Nigerians, with their large population, do not match Ghanaians' use of ritual killings to settle scores.

He urged well-meaning Ghanaians to pay attention to the number of reported missing people in the country, noting that there have been slightly over half a million missing persons reported since the beginning of the year. 

He remarked, "Playfully you hear we were with him yesterday, and the next day he's dead.

That is Ghanaian and not by guns."

Mr. Al-Wahab also narrated an incident involving a madman with a gun at a church event attended by former President Mahama, which he described as a security breach. 

He expressed concerns about how security officers handle the safety of the presidents in Ghana, adding that security personnel often focus more on themselves than on their duties
