Johnson Asiedu Nketia, NDC National Chairman

National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on party members who have not yet received government appointments to remain loyal and continue supporting President John Mahama to succeed.

Speaking during his three-day “Thank You” Tour of the Eastern Region, Mr. Asiedu Nketia explained that the number of qualified individuals within the party far exceeds the available government slots, making it impossible to appoint everyone at once.

Addressing NDC executives and supporters at the Akuapem North Constituency in the Abutakyi electoral area, he emphasised that President Mahama’s four-year mandate, coupled with the possibility of future reshuffles, presents opportunities for more party faithful to serve in government.

It is better to be a floor member in government than to be the same in opposition,” he told members, urging patience and continued dedication.

Mr. Asiedu Nketiah commended the commitment of branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, cadres, Assembly members, and other groups toward the party’s 2024 electoral victory.

He added that current executives deserved another term if they chose to contest their positions, citing their sacrifice and hard work.

He also assured members that more job openings would soon become available, including opportunities in the police service and other security agencies, and encouraged party members to take advantage when recruitment begins.

On the second day of his tour, the NDC Chairman is scheduled to visit Akuapem North, Akuapem South, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Upper West Akim, and Lower West Akyem constituencies. The final leg will cover Asene-Manso-Akroso, Achiase, Swedro, Akyem Oda, Kade, and Akwatia.

In total, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah will engage 16 constituencies during this phase of his regional tour.
