Mahama confident of NDC Victory, takes a swipe at Bawumia’s Ashanti Region campaign

The Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has expressed unwavering confidence in his party's chances of securing victory in the upcoming December elections.

Speaking to a charged crowd of supporters at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi during his tour of the Ashanti Region, Mahama criticized the frequent presence of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the region whenever the NDC campaigns there.

Mahama interpreted Bawumia’s moves as a sign of the NPP’s desperation and a clear acknowledgement of the NDC's growing influence in the region, long considered an NPP stronghold.

“I was surprised when, months ago, during our campaign visits to Kumasi and other parts of the Ashanti Region, I learned that Bawumia was also in the region,” Mahama said.

“Even when we moved to the Western North, Western, Central, and Eastern Regions, we heard he was still lingering here.”

He dismissed the NPP flagbearer’s efforts, asserting that no amount of time spent in the region or involvement of family members in the campaign could thwart the NDC's momentum.

“If Bawumia wants, he can bring Hajia Samira, his entire family, and even his extended relations to the Ashanti Region; the NDC will still win,” Mahama declared confidently to thunderous applause and cheers from his supporters.
