Mahama rates Kufuor above Akufo-Addo, calls for NDC victory to rescue Ghana

Mr John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer and Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has praised former President John Agyekum Kufuor, rating him higher than the current President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Speaking at Bortianor -Ngleshie- Amanfro Constituency in the Greater Accra Region as part of his regional campaign tour, Mr Mahama compared the leadership styles of the two, saying the difference between Mr Kufuor and Akufo-Addo is as stark as "light and darkness."
Mr Mahama expressed disappointment in President Akufo-Addo’s leadership, stating that he has failed to meet the expectations of Ghanaians since assuming office.
According to him, the President’s administration has been a letdown, especially in light of the high hopes many had for him prior to his presidency.
The former President also accused Akufo-Addo of running a government dominated by family and friends, a practice he claims is damaging to Ghana’s democracy.
He emphasized that the NDC must win the 2024 elections to "rescue" the country from what he described as poor governance under Akufo-Addo’s leadership.
Mahama further criticized the economic management of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government, blaming their policies for the current economic challenges facing the nation.
He assured supporters that, if elected, the NDC would work to restore and reset the country’s economy, putting it back on track to prosperity.
The NDC leader urged Ghanaians to support his bid for the presidency, promising that his government would prioritize the interests of the people and deliver effective leadership.
