Mahama's administration is on the right track- Bawah Mogtari hails

Senior Presidential Advisor and Special Aide to President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has expressed strong confidence in the early performance of the current administration, describing it as “so far, so great” in a Facebook post on Monday, May 5, 2025.
Mogtari pointed to rising approval ratings and President Mahama’s strong electoral mandate—secured with 57% of the popular vote—as clear indicators of public support and early progress within the first 120 days in office.
“I have been closely following the approval ratings of President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, and like many Ghanaians, I am confident that we are on the right track,” she wrote.
As the administration marks a major milestone in its reform agenda, Mogtari spotlighted the upcoming launch of a new Code of Conduct and Ethics as a pivotal step toward restoring public trust and enhancing accountability in government.
“Today, President Mahama takes a bold step forward with the formal launch of the Code of Conduct and Ethics,” she stated.
“This framework will be binding on all public office holders, government officials, politically exposed persons, and their close associates.”
Mogtari emphasised that a key pillar of the new Code is a strict prohibition against political appointees and their associates acquiring state assets—a measure aimed at curbing conflicts of interest and promoting ethical governance.
“The policy establishes clear enforcement mechanisms and unpacks the scope of this ban to ensure transparency and accountability,” she explained.
She concluded by stressing that the Code sends a strong message: “There is no room for conflicts of interest. Public office is a sacred trust—not a shortcut to personal wealth.”
