Musah Ziyad elected unopposed as Presiding Member of Accra Metropolitan Assembly

The Assembly Member for the Amamomo Electoral Area in the Ashiedu Keteke Sub-Metropolitan District of the Greater Accra Region, Musah Ziyad, has been unanimously elected as the new Presiding Member (PM) of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).
Mr Ziyad secured all 30 votes cast by Assembly Members in a resounding show of unity and support, with no dissenting votes recorded.
His endorsement was further affirmed through popular acclamation, signalling broad confidence in his leadership capabilities.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Ziyad expressed heartfelt appreciation to his colleagues for the overwhelming mandate.
“I stand before you here today very humbled by the task that you have been able to achieve,” he said.
He described his election as a pivotal moment in the life of the Assembly and acknowledged the support of traditional leaders, stakeholders, and fellow Assembly Members.
“Today is a very important day in the life of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly,” he remarked.
Pledging to promote teamwork and unity, Mr. Ziyad committed to elevating the profile of the Assembly both locally and nationally.
“On behalf of the Assembly Members, I once again say that in togetherness, in unity, we are going to uphold the name Accra Metropolitan very high.
We are going to make Accra the beacon of hope for every municipal, every district, and every metropolitan assembly in Ghana,” he stated.
