Zoomlion distances itself from illegal mining activities

Zoomlion Ghana Limited has firmly disassociated itself from illegal mining operations, popularly known as "galamsey," following reports that equipment bearing the "Zoomlion" brand name is being used in such activities across various districts.
In a public disclaimer issued by its Communications Directorate, the company clarified that it is not involved in, does not support, and has never participated in any form of illegal mining.
Zoomlion Ghana stressed that it neither owns, operates, leases, nor authorises the use of any equipment for mining purposes.
The statement explained that the equipment being associated with galamsey activities bears the name "Zoomlion" because it is manufactured by Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co. Ltd., a Chinese company completely independent of Zoomlion Ghana Limited.
"Any use of such equipment in connection with illegal mining is without the knowledge, consent, or approval of Zoomlion Ghana Limited," the company emphasised.
Zoomlion Ghana urged the general public, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to disregard any false association and to be cautious of any unauthorised use of its name.
