Bryan Acheampong donates GH¢800,000 to victims of Adum and Kantamanto market fires

In a powerful gesture of compassion and solidarity, Dr. Bryan Acheampong has donated a total of GH¢800,000 to victims of two recent fire disasters that ravaged major trading centres in Kumasi and Accra.
During a visit to the Adum Market in Kumasi, where a devastating fire recently destroyed several shops and goods, Dr. Acheampong presented a GH¢300,000 cash donation to support affected traders.
Deeply moved by the scale of destruction and the emotional anguish of the victims, he assured the market community of his commitment to their recovery.
“This is not just about relief. If given the opportunity, I will champion the complete redevelopment of the Adum Market into a modern, secure, and resilient trading hub,” Dr. Acheampong promised, stressing the urgent need for long-term solutions to the recurring market fire menace.
In a further show of support, he also announced an additional GH¢500,000 donation to victims of the Kantamanto Market fire in Accra, bringing his total contribution to GH¢800,000.
Expressing concern over the increasing frequency of such disasters, Dr. Acheampong called for collaborative efforts between government, private stakeholders, and local authorities to improve market infrastructure and enforce stricter fire safety protocols to protect traders and their livelihoods.
His philanthropic gesture has been widely praised by market leaders and community members, who say it offers not just financial relief but renewed hope for rebuilding their businesses and lives.
